Three varietals. Endless superlatives. Meet our Y3 Taureau, an indulgent blend sourced from premium vineyards. Starting with Merlot, sourced from Dry Creek Valley, the Taureau offers a polished blend with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Full bodied. Feisty. Just like the legendary bull after whom it was named. And not only does Taureau pair well with most dishes, but it offers a “special occasion taste” at an “everyday wine price.” For a gorgeous blend with a soft entry and deep complexity, grab a bull by the bottle.
This dark ruby, Bordeaux blend unveils aromas of dark cherry, cocoa, and a hint of anise. The Merlot (sourced from the Dry Creek Valley) provides a canvas for a balanced wine with soft fruit nuances and structured tannins.
Our goal with this wine was to produce an approachable, everyday drinking wine that pairs with a range of foods. Balancing the Merlot beautifully, the earthy Cabernet Franc lends a savory characteristic with hints of anise while the Cabernet Sauvignon provides dark fruit and rich color. Arrange a tasting→
Y3. Or as you may ask, why not? After all, the beauty of this wine runs far deeper than the label. Celebrating three generations of land-tilling, wine-loving Jacksons, siblings Kimberly and Trent are proud to present Y3, a wine as special as the memories of their grandparents at Yarrayne Ranch.
In our humble wine-obsessed opinion, many Napa Valley Chardonnays tend to be over-styled with excessive butter and oak. But as the Jackson siblings know (through lots of testing), an outstanding Chardonnay owes its success to outstanding fruit, not a heavy style. We think you’ll agree.
This wine offers an impressive balance of bright pear, white peach, and pineapple complimented by subtle notes of vanilla and toasted almond. The Napa fruit enjoys a touch of malolactic fermentation and limited French oak exposure, resulting in a bright and harmonious wine with an elegant finish. Arrange a tasting→
Summers get hot in Calistoga and it was on such a feverish day that siblings Kimberly and Trent found inspiration for this wine. The aim was simple: Make a clean and refreshing wine while representing a true to varietal Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.
This Sauvignon Blanc begins with fresh vibrant aromas of melon, pear, grapefruit and hints of dried apricot and fig. The palate captures the essence of the aromatics with a bounty of bright citrus and minerality laced with crisp acidity that lingers with a fresh finish.
Introducing the debut of our first JAX vineyard designate Chardonnay! Sourced from a highly coveted vineyard on the southwest side of Carneros, this vineyard produces pristine fruit preserved by the San Pablo Bay sea breeze. Kirk Venge elevates the fruit with delectable French oak accents. The limited production and remarkable flavor profile inspired us to hand wax every single bottle…
This chardonnay opens up with aromas of bright fruit, including pear, citrus, and white peach. Delectably rich, the creamy melange of apricot jam, white peach and honey flavors are framed by warm vanilla and almond notes. Winemaker Kirk Venge achieves a balanced acidity that keeps this wine fresh and lively on the palate. Arrange a tasting→
JAX Vineyards produces this distinctive Cabernet Franc, sourced solely from the family vineyard. Tasting through the Cabernet Franc after aging, there were two barrels that stood out from the rest of the bunch in 2010. We knew that we would be doing Cab Franc lovers and ourselves an injustice to not bottle these on their own. Only 49 cases of this lovely, drinkable yet age-worthy wine to go around.
This wine displays a saturated, deep purple color with violet highlights that lead into aromas of rich dark cherry, sandalwood and fresh herbs. The nose is followed by flavors of blueberry, currant, licorice and delicate chocolate. The finish is finely cut with a classy presence of French oak gently mingling with soft, age-worthy tannins. Winemaker Kirk Venge showcases our Calistoga terroir in this Estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark cherry, currant and espresso notes are balanced by elegant minerality and French Oak accents of vanilla and structured tannins. The wine reveals impressive levels of richness as well as intensity. The final blend is virtually all Cabernet Sauvignon and the wine can be enjoyed now or cellared till 2020. Arrange a tasting→

An outstanding value is the 2007 Chardonnay Y3, which offers copious tropical fruit, orange blossom, and nectarine scents and flavors along with fresh acids and an endearing purity as well as texture. A sleeper of the vintage, it should drink nicely for several years. Robert Parker

The elegant, deep ruby/purple-colored 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits red and black currant fruit notes intermixed with hints of oak, tobacco leaf, and spice. Well put together and not excessively tannic, it is ideal for drinking over the next 10-12 years. Robert Parker

A very clean nose, with gorgeous pear puree. I like the great mouthfeel of this wine, which is round but not fat, and attacks the palate in a lovely way. Really persistent, creamy apple and citrus fruits, like an apple-lemon pudding. I like this wine a whole lot. Gary Vaynerchuk, on the 2009 Y3 Chardonnay
